History
1561 – 1629: Governor Tiesenhausen governed the area of Alûksne.
1638: King of Sweden granted the manor to General Gustav Horn.
1750: Empress Elisabeth of Russia presented the manor as a gift to Chancellor, Count Voroncov.
1820: Count Voronov sold the manor to secret advisor Otto von Vietinghof.
1838: Von Wolff and August von Tranze had ownership of the manor Kalniena.
1853: Records mention Von Wolff family as being the sole owners of the manor.
1880: District administrator Friedrich von Wolff wanted to reconstruct the manor. Plans were cancelled due to his passing away in 1884.
1904: A household accident caused a fire that destroyed the manor. This was subsequently rebuilt according to plans of the architect Boxlaff.
1930: Two land ladies, relatives of the Von Wolff family lived in the manor.
1938: The Rural Territory Administration purchased the manor and converted it into a school.
2004: Kalniena Basic School closed.
